McKinley Park Stewardship Day

From Saturday, May 9, 9:00 am until 12:00 pm

Join neighbors and the McKinley Park Advisory Council to help clean up the park at the McKinley Park Stewardship Day, 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 0, 2020, at the stump circle in McKinley Park, 2210 W. Pershing Road, Chicago.

The Stewardship Day on May 9 is an especially big one, with many new plantings going in at the park. All volunteers are encouraged to come out and participate.

The stewardship clean-up, which takes place 9 a.m. to noon on the second Saturday of the month through October, kicks off from the stump circle in the east end of McKinley Park, in the natural area to the east of the lagoon and just west of southbound Damen Avenue.  The stewardship work will help beautify and protect the park, incuding its lagoon and nature trails. Volunteer tasks vary each month, but might include trail maintenance, planting, pruning, weeding, controlling invasive plant species, seed collection and trash pick-up.

Tools and work gloves will be provided. Parking is available in the lot adjacent to the field house, with an entrance off Pershing Road, as well as nearby street parking along the park. For more information on the stewardship clean-up, send email to the McKinley Park Advisory Council at
