Renewable Energy Training Program Enrollment

Get started in a career in solar, wind and the energy industry at the Renewable Energy Training Program Enrollment, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays to Fridays through August 24, 2019, at the National Latino Education Institute, 2011 W. Pershing Road, Chicago.

The National Latino Education Institute's ENERGIA Project is an education program developed cooperatively between the institute and energy industry leaders such as ComEd, the Midwest Renewable Energy Association and the Future Energy Jobs Act. It is open at no cost to students 18 years of age and older who hold a high school equivalency/GED or greater educational attainment.

ENERGIA students receive solid, foundational industry knowledge and technical skills for successful entry into energy occupations and fields. Program elements include:

  • Classroom instruction with employers and energy experts
  • Student support
  • Recognized industry certification
  • Safety and OSHA 10 certification
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Academic, technical and lifetime career skills
  • Field experiences in technical, business or customer engagement paths
  • Job placement
