Chicago Blackhawks Hockey Clinics

From Saturday, January 16, 11:00 am until 1:00 pm

Kids can get free expert hockey instruction at the Chicago Blackhawks Hockey Clinics, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at the McKinley Park ice rink, 3801 S. Western Boulevard, Chicago.

Coached by the Fan Development staff of the Chicago Blackhawks, the free, learn-to-play hockey clinics offer skates and equipment at no cost, and all participants will also receive a free Blackhawks jersey to keep.

Two clinics are scheduled for different age groups: Children ages 5 to 8 years of age are slated for 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., and kids ages 9 to 12 years of age will train from 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m.

Use of skates and a hockey stick will be provided for free, but each participant must bring and wear their own helmet and gloves. (Bike helmets and mittens are OK.) Prior ice skating experience and advance registration are required: Click here to register.

Participants should plan to arrive 20 to 30 minutes prior to the start of the scheduled clinic and, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, be prepared to put on skates outside. Access to the warming buildings will be for skate rental only. Cancellation due to weather will take place no later than 4 hours prior to a clinic's scheduled start; all participants will receive advance notice of any cancellations.
