DESCRIPTION:Become a tutor and help adult immigrants learn English at Aquin
 as Literacy Center's tutor training\, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday\, Decembe
 r 2\, 2016\, at the center at 3540 S. Hermitage Ave.\, Chicago. This is th
 e first of a required two-part training program that also includes a 9 a.m
 . to 4 p.m. session on the following day (Saturday\, December 3).\nOnce tr
 ained\, each tutor will work with a student for 90 minutes per week betwee
 n 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Mondays through Wednesdays or Thursdays between 9 a
 .m. and 5 p.m. based on individuals' schedules. All tutoring takes place a
 t the center. Knowledge of another language is not required of tutors — in
 struction takes place in English — however tutors must be native or near-n
 ative English speakers. A total of 13 hours of training is required before
  becoming a tutor\, including three hours following the tutor training ses
 sions. After tutors complete training\, each will receive a certificate an
 d 6 month membership from ProLiteracy.\nA one-time fee of $25 pays for the
  cost of tutor training materials and refreshments during the workshops. P
