DESCRIPTION:Become a tutor and help adult immigrants learn English at Aquin
 as Literacy Center's tutor training\, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday\, Janua
 ry 21\, 2017\, at the center at 3540 S. Hermitage Ave.\, Chicago. This is 
 the second of a required two-part training program that also includes a 6 
 p.m. to 9 p.m. session on the preceding day (Friday\, January 20).\nOnce t
 rained\, each tutor will work with a student for 90 minutes per week betwe
 en 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Mondays through Wednesdays or Thursdays between 9 
 a.m. and 5 p.m. based on individuals' schedules. All tutoring takes place 
 at the center. Knowledge of another language is not required of tutors — i
 nstruction takes place in English — however tutors must be native or near-
 native English speakers. A total of 13 hours of training is required befor
 e becoming a tutor\, including three hours following the tutor training se
 ssions. After tutors complete training\, each will receive a certificate a
 nd 6 month membership from ProLiteracy.\nA one-time fee of $25 pays for th
 e cost of tutor training materials and refreshments during the workshops.
