DESCRIPTION:Become a tutor and help adult immigrants learn English at Aquin
 as Literacy Center's tutor training\, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday\, Novem
 ber 10\, 2018\, at the center at 1751 W. 35th St.\, Chicago. This is the s
 econd of a required two-part training program that also includes a 6 p.m. 
 to 9 p.m. session on the preceding day (Friday\, November 9).\nOnce traine
 d\, each tutor will work with a student for 90 minutes per week between 9 
 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Mondays through Wednesdays or Thursdays between 9 a.m. 
 and 5 p.m. based on individuals' schedules. All tutoring takes place at th
 e center. Knowledge of another language is not required of tutors — instru
 ction takes place in English — however tutors must be native or near-nativ
 e English speakers. A total of 13 hours of training is required before bec
 oming a tutor\, including three hours following the tutor training session
 s. After tutors complete training\, each will receive a certificate from a
 nd six-month membership to ProLiteracy.\nA one-time fee of $25 pays for th
 e cost of tutor training materials and refreshments during the workshops.
