DESCRIPTION:Become a tutor and help adult immigrants learn English at Aquin
 as Literacy Center's tutor training\, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday\, Decem
 ber 2\, 2017\, at the center at 1751 W. 35th St.\, Chicago. This is the se
 cond of a required two-part training program that also includes a 6 p.m. t
 o 9 p.m. session on the preceding day (Friday\, December 1).\nOnce trained
 \, each tutor will work with a student for 90 minutes per week between 9 a
 .m. and 8 p.m. on Mondays through Wednesdays or Thursdays between 9 a.m. a
 nd 5 p.m. based on individuals' schedules. All tutoring takes place at the
  center. Knowledge of another language is not required of tutors — instruc
 tion takes place in English — however tutors must be native or near-native
  English speakers. A total of 13 hours of training is required before beco
 ming a tutor\, including three hours following the tutor training sessions
 . After tutors complete training\, each will receive a certificate from an
 d six-month membership to ProLiteracy.\nA one-time fee of $25 pays for the
  cost of tutor training materials and refreshments during the workshops. P
