starting at the 35th/Archer Orange Line El Station at 3685 S. Archer Ave.\
 , Chicago.\nPresented by Chicago for Chicagoans\, the tour consists of a 2
.5 hour walk through McKinley Park with special guest collaborator and his
toric preservationist Erica Ruggiero. As a passionate advocate for Chicago
's industrial history\, Erica brings her expertise of the Central Manufact

of vernacular architecture.\nBeginning at the 35th/Archer Orange Line El
stop\, the tour will cover the history\, landmarks and towering structures
of a neighborhood that's long been responsible for much of the city's bri

 , towering manufacturing supercenters\, churches\, schools and parks\, and
explore McKinley Park's unique stamp on Chicago's magnificent blue collar
history. The afternoon will end at Lindy's Chili & Gertie's Ice Cream\, a
n iconic establishment that's been serving treats to the area since 1924.
 \nThe event is offered on a pay-what-you-can basis by the not-for-profit C
hicago for Chicagoans group. A suggested tip of $10 to $20 per person is a
lways appreciated\, but reviewing the group on Yelp\, liking them on Faceb
ook\, spreading the word and attending future tours are also ways to contr
ibute.\nRSVPs are suggested and highly appreciated. Click this link to RSV
