Volunteer Tutor Training

Become a volunteer English as a Second Language (ESL) tutor at Aquinas Literacy Center! Volunteer ESL tutors are needed for 90 minutes per week, scheduled at your convenience from 9am to 8pm, Monday through Thursday. Knowledge of a second language is not required; all instruction is in English. All prospective tutors are required to complete twelve pre-service hours of training before working with an assigned learner. At the end of the training, you will be a Certified ESL Tutor through ProLiteracy Worldwide. Through English-language literacy instruction, our learners are empowered to be successful parents, productive workers and responsible citizens.

Our next two part tutor training is Friday, August 22nd from 6-9 pm and Saturday, August 23rd from 9am - 3pm. You must attend both days of training for certification. Pre registration is required
