Kidical Mass

Starting on Sunday, October 21, 1:15 pm

The McKinley Park Advisory Council presents Kidical Mass, starting at 1:15 p.m. on select Sundays from May through October 2018 at the William McKinley memorial in McKinley Park, just southeast of the intersection of South Archer Avenue and South Western Boulevard in Chicago.

Kidical Mass is a national movement to encourage families to ride bicycles for transportation, exercise and fun. Each month's ride is unique and will navigate to a different playful location. Rides are typically 2 to 4 miles long at a 5 to 6 mph pace on quiet residential streets. Riders meet at 1:15 p.m., and the ride starts at 1:30 p.m. Each ride takes about 1 hour with stops.

The October Kidical Mass celebrates the harvest season with a costumed bike parade and Halloween-decorated bicycles.

Note the following guidelines:

  • Wear helmets and ride safely.
  • Kids are expected to be accompanied by an adult.
