Letter From the Editor
Let's Talk About CIMA (and Helping Chicago Journalism)
The Chicago Independent Media Alliance (CIMA) stands alone in our Midwest metropolis as the most active and consequential channel of support for local journalism.
Comprised of more than 60 independent Chicago media outlets, CIMA brings together all sorts of online publications, print newspapers, podcasters, video producers and others who publish high-quality original media that serves both local and national audiences.
You’ve possibly seen our group’s current fund-raiser at https://savechicagomedia.org that has so far raised over $60,000. The McKinley Park News is extremely grateful to be a part of the overall fund-raising, as well as for the direct donations we’ve received from supporters like you. Thank you so much for supporting journalism for our neighborhood!

Donate Through Monday Oct. 17
I encourage you to check out the great local media being produced by these CIMA members, as well as show your support by donating to any one of them or to the CIMA group as a whole.
The fund-raiser ends after Monday, October 17, so you still have a couple days to support local journalism! And thanks to generous support through matching grants, your donations will have double the impact through the end of the campaign.
