Illinois 1st District State Senator Tony Muñoz shared the soon-to-be-launched Restaurant Revitalization Fund from the U.S. Small Business Administration . This funding source will reimburse local restaurants, bars, caterers, bakeries, breweries and other businesses that have lost business due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This could be a very significant source of local food and dining support.

Muñoz recommends checking out the program info and getting your application materials together now, even though the program hasn't opened yet (but it will soon).

I'd also point local restaurateurs and food businesses to the 36Squared Business Incubator as a great overall resource, and potentially a source of help with this program (as 36Squared is an Illinois Small Business Development Center and now a Chicago Neighborhood Business Development Center). Their new hire is a veteran pro in running a successful restaurant in Chicago, as we've reported here in the McKinley Park News .
