Live Mural Painting
Fantastic new street art comes to the McKinley Park neighborhood of Chicago via the Live Mural Painting event from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2020, at the southeast corner of the intersection of West 35th Street and South Archer Avenue, Chicago.
A crew of street artists, including from Paint the City, will create original works on the boarded-up windows of long-shuttered, first-floor storefront spaces of a building at 35th and Archer, including new work from noted local muralist Milton Coronado.
The event will also feature the award of funds raised to benefit a local ice cream paleta vendor, who was robbed on the street last month in the McKinley Park neighborhood. A GoFundMe fund-raising campaign and Ice Cream Paleta Vendor Art Auction the day before, on Saturday, September 19, provide the fund-raising sources to support the robbery victim and other street vendors.
The office of 12th Ward Alderman George Cardenas will be providing free personal protective equipment and resources at the event, and U.S. Census takers will be on-hand to assist any neighborhood residents who have not yet responded to the census, which has a deadline of September 30.

The boarded-up storefront at West 35th Street and South Archer Avenue will soon sport a new original mural by Chicago street artist Milton Coronado.
