Help clean up the Chicago River at Chicago River Day, 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Canal Origins Park, 2701 S. Ashland Ave., Chicago.
Hosted by the Friends of the Chicago River, Chicago River Day includes numerous cleanup locations in addition to the one from the Ashland Orange Line El stop, which is led by site captain Jeff Sriver. During the event, volunteers gather to help clean up local waterways and learn about ecology and pollution in the Chicago River.
