Aquinas Literacy Center Grand Opening

From Friday, September 8, 2017 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm

Aquinas Literacy Center has moved to a new home, and friends and neighbors are invited to its Grand Opening, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, September 8, 2017, at the center, 1751 W. 35th St., Chicago.

For 21 years, Aquinas Literacy Center has offered individualized instruction in the English language to the adult immigrant population of McKinley Park and the surrounding neighborhoods of Chicago. Its new location offers ample space in a more visible location next door to the local elementary school. Through one-on-one tutoring, combined with supplemental learning opportunities (conversation classes, book clubs and writing workshops) and a computer learning center, learners are empowered to transform their lives by acquiring skills to become successful parents, productive workers and responsible citizens.  Every year 150 volunteer literacy tutors instruct 200 adult learners.

To help the center celebrate, friends and neighbors are welcome to attend the open house.

Show your pride and support local news with McKinley Park shirts and apparel.
