Central Manufacturing District Walking Tour

Historic preservationist Eria Ruggerio and Chicago historian Patti Swanson lead an Atlas Obscura tour of the Central Manufacturing District from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017, starting at Byline Bank, 1110 W. 35th St., Chicago. This 3.5-mile walking tour traces the origins, heyday, decline and current preservation efforts for the Central Manufacturing District, which stretches from Bridgeport's west end and alongside the east end and southern border of McKinley Park.

  • In case of rain, the tour will take place from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 24, 2017, instead.
  • Meet Field Agent Patti Swanson in front of the bank building.
  • Be ready to walk 3.5 miles; wear shoes fit for walking and comfortable clothing
  • ADA access is not available on this tour.
