Fall Lantern Walk
Join local families and members of the Tinkergarten program for a Fall Lantern Walk, 4:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. on Sunday, November 5, 2017, starting at the McKinley Park Play Garden, 3518 S. Wolcott Ave., Chicago.
The walk helps kids understand the nature of Daylight Savings Time (aka "fall back") and involves families on the same evening across the country. Gathering before dusk, families will light lanterns and enjoy an outdoor walk in the park.
Participants should bring one or more lanterns per family — one per family is recommended — or a flashlight, camping lantern or other light that can travel. Walk organizers will provide fire starters, tea lights and song sheets for group singing along the walk. More information is available on this event's Tinkergarten page.
