Bubbly Creek: Past, Present and Future

From Wednesday, August 22, 2018 6:30 pm until 9:00 pm

The McKinley Park Development Council hosts Bubbly Creek: Past, Present and Future, a panel discussion from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at the Chicago Maritime Museum, 1200 W. 35th St., Suite 05E-5010.

Panelists are to include Commissioner Debra Shore of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District and Dr. Phil Willink, who will speak about the fish populations in the south fork of the South Branch of the Chicago River, aka Bubbly Creek. Other panelists may include representatives of the 11th Ward and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

This free event opens up this amazing museum to council members and meeting attendees, and it will include light food and beverages. Donations to the museum at this event are encouraged.

In addition to meeting neighbors, learning about the Chicago River and its maritime history, and touring the museum, presentations will focus on Bubby Creek's past and pending projects to improve it.

The Chicago Maritime Museum is located in the Bridgeport Art Center on 35th Street between Racine Avenue and the river. Enter on the north side of the building; free parking is available in the parking lot to the north of the building.
