12th Ward Alderman George Cardenas hosts his 15th Annual 12th Ward Toy Giveaway from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018, at the McKinley Park field house, 2110 W. Pershing Road, Chicago.

At the giveaway, thousands of toys are provided for children of the 12th Ward, attracting thousands of ward residents celebrating the holiday.

"I'm grateful for my ability to serve this great community and cherish our holidays together," Cardenas said. "The essence of the Christmas season is giving. My favorite part of this season is the smiling faces as children meet Santa for their first or even their tenth time."

Presents will be available while quantities last. Toys will be gifted to children ages 10 and younger, who must be present at the event with a parent. Gift recipients must be residents of the 12th Ward and bring photo ID and proof of address, with no exceptions.

To register for the event, contact the 12th Ward office by calling (773) 523-8250, emailing arturo.romo@cityofchicago.org or sending an SMS text message to 555888 with the keyword "CardenasToyGiveaway."
