Salsa Contest: Bring on the Heat!
There's so much more to salsa than hot, medium, or mild. How do you like your salsa? Spicy, sweet, or verde? Packed with pineapples, beans, or avocado? Punched with pepper, lime, or cilantro?
Sign up to compete or sign up to judge. If you're up to the task, bring your favorite homemade salsa to impress the taste testers (bonus points for each ingredient sourced from your garden!). Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place winners.
Contestants will supply the salsa, we'll supply the chips…taste testers, bring a drink to cleanse your palate between taste tests…you know, to ensure superfair judging.
Contestants: Arrive at the garden at 4:30 p.m. to set up your station.
Taste Testers: Arrive at 5:00 p.m. to start judging (and enjoying!). $5 suggested donation per tester, or $10 per family (cash donations will be accepted at the showdown)
All donations will be used to cover the costs of the garden and its programming.
