Enjoy the Beauty and the Beast Film Screening from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at the McKinley Park branch of the Chicago Public Library, 1915 W. 35th St., Chicago.

The 2017 film Beauty and the Beast is the live-action retelling of Disney's animated classic, which refashions classic characters for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. The story tells of the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.

Beauty and the Beast is rated PG. The film screening is free and part of the Chicago Public Library's Community Cinema program.
