The 2002 film Far From Heaven tells of how an affluent 1950s wife and mother's idyllic world is shattered by a shocking discovery about her husband's forbidden love affair. She also gives the town gossips something to talk about when her friendship with the family's black gardener deepens.

Far From Heaven, a Focus Features film, is rated PG-13 and has a run time of 108 minutes.  The film screening is free and part of the Chicago Public Library's Community Cinema program.
