McKinley Park Opens for Family Night Gym Fun and More Spring Events
The latest program at Chicago's McKinley Park is Family Night Out in McKinley, an open gymnasium play session that gets started for the spring season at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. Bring the whole crew to the gym at the field house, and for a modest fee, your family can enjoy access, sports equipment and open play.
Family Night Out in McKinley takes place every Wednesday during the spring, and it joins a number of new, exciting programs, including a range of fitness classes for local veterans, including archery, badminton and yoga.
Also taking place on Wednesday, April 7, in McKinley Park is the Good Jobs for All Rally, a demonstration by the Sunrise Movement Chicago to advocate for Green New Deal policies that support high-quality employment while serving as agents in the fight against climate change. The rally is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.

Search with your dogs during the Scavenger Hunt with the Pups on Saturday, April 10. This fun hunt through the park is the first big activity of 2021 for the McKinley Dog Park Advisory Council, an all-volunteer group that brought the new dog-friendly area to McKinley Park and continues ongoing work with events, maintenance and advocacy.
Getting started this Saturday at 11 a.m. is Family Yoga, taking place at the lovely McKinley Community Play Garden, a restored community commons next to the McKinley Park branch of the Chicago Public Library. This a donation-based class, and participants should bring their own yoga mats and water.
