After a year off due to the COVID pandemic, the McKinley Park Memorial Day parade returned on Monday, May 31, 2021, to wind through the McKinley Park neighborhood of Chicago and honor veterans at a ceremony at the William McKinley American Legion Post 231.

New post Commander Pat McGuire welcomed the crowd to the observances and asked everyone to remember the fallen heroes of all wars. A dramatic three-gun salute followed, as well as playing of Taps on bugle.

McKinley Park residents eagerly cheered the parade from sidewalks and joined in, marching several blocks through the neighborhood. A cavalcade of antique cars and souped-up autos followed the marchers in the parade.
