Many homes in Cook County have inaccurate property taxes, and 7th District Cook County Commissioner candidate Angie Sandoval is providing some help via a Property Tax Appeal Seminar at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, at the McKinley Park field house. Presented alongside Illinois State Senator Antonio "Tony" Munoz, the seminar will assist homeowners in understanding and appealing their property taxes.
Families will find entertaining fun at the McKinley Park library this week, including Games Day at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, when the library breaks out both tried-and-true gaming classics and six new games each month. Players can go head to head at Chess at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, at the library, and bingo fans can get their fix at the weekly Bingo games, Wednesday evenings at Blessed Sacrament Parish.
Everett Elementary holds its Local School Council meeting at 8:25 a.m. on Thursday, March 1, when parents and community members come together to help provide oversight for school funds and performance. Citizens’ participation in our local school councils helps our schools and all of the neighborhood.
The tickets are sold out, but for those neighbors lucky enough to grab a spot, lock in your calendars for the McKinley Park Civic Association Annual Banquet and Awards at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 4. This annual fete and fund-raiser features well-deserved recognition of leading local educators, as well as the award of the William H.G. Toms Community Service Award, this year slated for Illinois 2nd District State Rep Theresa Mah.
These are just some of the great neighborhood events happening in McKinley Park this week. Check the full calendar, featured events, showcase events and events dashboard for more.
