McKinley Park's third annual Summer Concert Series still has a limited number of available slots for performers who wish to showcase their talent at the popular weekly event. Running in conjunction with the expanded McKinley Park Farmers Market, the 2018 concert series presents performances every Sunday afternoon from June 3 through September.
Interested musicians, dancers and other performers should contact summer concert series organizer and McKinley Park Advisory Council member Dayna Calderon by Friday, May 4, 2018, by sending a private message through her Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CalderonDayna/.
All performances take place from noon to 1:15 p.m. at the William McKinley memorial in the northwest corner of the park, adjacent to the site of the farmers market. Although electricity is not available at the site, performers are welcome to use self-powered amplification. Performers can also accept tips, sell CDs and promote upcoming appearances and organizations.
Audience participation is a welcome component of performances, Calderon said, and "make and take" craft activities can be set up to coincide with a performance.
If inclement weather prevents any performance, it will be rescheduled if possible, Calderon said.
