News and events for Chicago's McKinley Park neighborhood

The McKinley Park Farmers Market opens the 2018 season this Sunday, June 3, with a dramatically expanded lineup of vendors and its continuing live music concert series. Shop, hang out and have fun with neighbors starting at 10 a.m. in the northwest corner of the park next to the William McKinley monument. Beginning at noon, enjoy the Farmers Market Concert: The Greenleaf Band, which features live vocals paired with pickin' and pluckin'. Don't forget your reusable bag for shopping: All who bring one get to enter a free raffle for gift certificates from local fresh food vendors.

Stretch your legs this Saturday and Sunday afternoon, June 2 and 3, at the McKinley Park Walking Tour. Local historic preservation and urban history experts from the Chicago for Chicagoans group lead the tour through most corners of McKinley Park, starting at the 35th/Archer El stop and ending at Lindy's Chili & Gertie's Ice Cream for some snacks, drinks and treats.

The McKinley Park branch of the Chicago Public Library continues its ongoing events lineup with Games Day this Saturday afternoon, June 2. Every month features six new games, with a pile of traditional games also available for play. But this isn't Candyland with toddlers: Kids 11 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

These are just some of the great neighborhood events happening in McKinley Park this week. Check the full calendar, featured events, showcase events and events dashboard for more.
