Kids Concert at Library, Blues at Farmers Market Highlight This Week's Events in McKinley Park

Little Miss Ann will charm young children at the McKinley park library at 11 a.m. this Tuesday, July 31,  for The Earth and You Concert. Little Miss Ann's original and classic kids songs from her five award-winning albums get kids to sing, clap and dance along with her upbeat, interactive folk-rock music.

Catch some blues and roots music at the Farmers Market Concert: Joe Filisko & Eric Noden, at noon on Sunday August 5 in McKinley Park at the William McKinley memorial. This performance is part of the weekly concert series that dovetails off the McKinley Park Farmers Market, which offers fresh produce and goods from local producers every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Fans of tabletop and board games can get their fix this Saturday afternoon, August 4, at Games Day at the McKinley Park public library. From 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., join other local gamers for a selection of six new games to try each month, plus many tried-and-true classics. Although all ages are welcome, kids 11 and younger need to be accompanied by an adult.

No youth or child in McKinley Park need go hungry for weekday lunches thanks to the Free Summer Meals for Kids and Teens from The Lunch Bus, at 3:05 p.m. every Monday through Friday this summer at the McKinley Park public library. Sponsored by the Greater Chicago Food Depository, The Lunch Bus will be traveling to McKinley Park and other Chicago neighborhoods all summer long.

12th Ward Alderman George Cardenas hosts the weekly Ward Night on Mondays 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.; call ahead to make an appointment to discuss concerns and get help for property and neighborhood issues.
