Midnight Circus, Smokeout Returns to McKinley Park

The astounding Midnight Circus brings its acrobatics and performers to McKinley Park over Labor Day weekend for an expanded set of five performances from Friday, August 31, through Sunday, September 2. The shows run at 7 p.m. on Friday and at noon and 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets with neighborhood-discounted prices cost only $5 and are available through Midnight Circus' Eventbrite page and at the door. However, advance tickets are recommended for this extremely popular and packed set of performances. 

12th Ward Alderman George Cardenas and local officers from the Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy (CAPS) host a Faith in Action Smokeout on Thursday evening, August 30, at Kucinski-Murphy Park, right across from the firehouse at Ashland Avenue and 33rd Place. Join staff, neighbors and friends for grilling, networking, a DJ and more fun while getting to know this charming park in the McKinley Park neighborhood.  

The McKinley Park Farmers Market continues its seasonal stand this Sunday, August 2, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the William McKinley memorial in McKinley Park. The expanding vendor lineup now includes Broken K Ranch, bringing farm fresh beef, chicken and eggs to the market.

On Sunday morning, September 2, Bethany Baptist Church hosts its annual Outdoor Worship Service as a kick-off to the start of school. Join congregants there for a service and following BBQ.

The McKinley Park public library again brings back Games Day this Saturday, September 1, lining up a selection of new and classic board games for teens and adults to enjoy.
