McKinley Park Neighborhood Steps into the New Year with Parties, Events

Celebrate the coming 2019 in the McKinley Park neighborhood with New Year's Eve parties, including the New Year's Eve Pajama Party at One City Tap. Wear your most fabulous, scandalous, or comfortable jammie-jams and dance to the tunes of DJ Angel, with a free champagne toast at midnight. There is no cover charge for this 21-and-over event.

Marz Community Brewing Company hosts the Marz New Year's Eve Party with an all-you-can-eat slider bar, unlimited small pours of beers, a midnight toast and other goodies at a price of $60 per advance ticket, or $80 at the door. DJ Fanita Banana & Friends Sound System pounds out the prime party tracks into the New Year.

The McKinley Park Civic Association Meeting on the evening of Wednesday, January 2, promises the announcement of the winners of the association's Educators of the Year Award, as well as the William H.G. Toms Community Service Award. Attend and connect with McKinley Park Civic Association members, activate your 2019 annual membership and get details on the upcoming association banquet.

Jazz on Marz with the Jazzeros continues its weekly residency at Marz Community Brewing Company with sets of live jazz performance on Wednesday, January 2.

The McKinley Park branch of the Chicago Public Library begins its 2019 events this week, including Winter Story Time on Thursday, January 3, and Little Learners Story Time on Friday, January 4, providing interactive fun for the youngest children. Teens and adults can face off over new and classic tabletop games at Drop-In Games on Saturday, January 5, and seniors can learn the basics of computer use at the Senior Computer Workshop on Thursday, January 3.
