Published March 9, 2019

The Chicago Police Department's Ninth District has invited residents of the McKinley Park neighborhood, including its encompassing police Beat 912, to attend a meeting about the department's new strategic plan for community policing. Held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, at the Florence Nightingale School, 5225 S. Talman Ave., Chicago, the event includes a community "conversation" soliciting citizens' input and ideas toward the plan.

"This is part of a new strategy to problem-solve around community concerns," said Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy (CAPS) Community Organizer Holger Del Cid, part of the Ninth District team serving Beat 912. "It will be happening in every district across the city."

Meeting participants and leaders will keep their energy up during the meeting with complimentary light refreshments. Anyone who needs more information can contact the Ninth District Community Policing office by calling (312) 747-3501.

The CAPS Meeting for Beat 912, which covers McKinley Park and ties into community policing outreach, is set for 7 p.m. this Wednesday, March 13, at St. Maurice Church Hall, 3625 S. Hoyne Ave., Chicago.
