This begins with the McKinley Park Community Development Meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, when Cardenas invites all neighborhood residents and stakeholders to view plans and interact with developers for three proposed building projects: the $60 million Parkview projects at 2139 and 2159 W. Pershing Road, the overhaul of the ice storage warehouse and U.S. Cold Storage Co. building at 2055 and 2011 W. Pershing Road, and a proposed photo studio at 38th and Hermitage.

A local duo of bluesmen and past farmers market favorites returns on Sunday, July 7, for the Farmers Market Concert: Joe Filisko & Eric Noden. The boys will belt out the blues starting at noon alongside the McKinley Park Farmers Market, which runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Stretch out in the morning with Yoga at the Farmers Market, then stick around for some Bocce Ball with friends and neighbors while noshing on fresh market fruit, pastry, coffee, tamales and more.

This week, the McKinley Park public library is again the place to be for kids. The CircEsteem program on Monday, July 1, brings the circus to the library with a performance troupe and hands-on juggling and clowning workshops. The Hunchback of Notre Dame Film Screening on Saturday, July 6, presents the animated Disney classic as a free matineé.

The LEGO at the Library series returns on Tuesday, July 2, for construction and engineering challenges, and the sTEAM Players on Wednesday, July 3, kicks off a summer of kids engagement with Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. Older library patrons can brush up on their digital skills at the Senior Computer Workshop on Friday, July 5.

The Lunch Bus program has returned to the McKinley Park library, providing free meals and nutrition for our neighborhood's kids. Any person 18 years of age and younger can show up at the library between 1:35 p.m. and 1:55 p.m. Mondays through Fridays for a free, nutritious meal. This program runs all summer through August 30.

The DJ Communicator spins on Wednesday, July 3, at One City Tap.

On Wednesday, July 3, pick between jazzin or jammin for your pre-Fourth of July, mid-week holiday bender. Jazz on Marz with the Jazzeros pours out smooth sounds at the Marz Community Brewing Company's tap room, while the July Jam Anthem with DJ Communicator at One City Tap promises a booty-shaking good time.

Keep the party rolling through the weekend at One City Tap's Karaoke Night on Friday, July 5, and their all-night weekly dance party, Sabado Gigante, on Saturday, July 6.

These are just some of the great neighborhood events happening in McKinley Park this week. Check the full calendar, featured events, showcase events and events dashboard for more.
