The Omega Delta Youth Baseball & Softball League, which since 2006 has hosted youth ball games for thousands of kids from its headquarters at Hoyne Park, 3417 S. Hamilton Ave., in Chicago's McKinley Park neighborhood, announced its 2024 season of play, including a discount for early-bird signups.
Before February 24, 2024, players will receive a $75 discount off the standard fee, with age-based seasonal rates between $75 and $125. Teams range from T-ball for 4- and 5-year-olds through high school girls softball.
Players and families in each division enjoy about 15 ball games of play, full uniforms, invites to the award picnic and an award for every player, tickets to a minor league ball game, opening day and all-star festivities, and a full season's worth of family activities and neighborhood camaraderie.
Although the focus is on learning and sportsmanship at the league, which is non-profit and entirely volunteer-run, competitive players can join traveling teams that face off against others around Chicago.

Thanks to Omega Delta, Hoyne Park has enjoyed significant upgrades over the past couple years from charities like the Chicago Cubs Diamond Project, which has upgraded field drainage and sod, and brought an electronic scoreboard and batting cage to the park.
In addition to the registration fee, each family is responsible for a $50 service-hour deposit that's returned after five hours of volunteering for the league over the season.
Online registration for the 2024 season is available at the Omega Delta 2024 season sign-up page on the SportsEngine service.
