The Omega Delta Youth Baseball and Softball League celebrated the end of its primary season on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Hoyne Park, the league's home field in Chicago's McKinley Park neighborhood.
League head Danny Gaichas led the ceremonies, introducing every team and awarding every player, and congratulating season champions in front of an audience of hundreds of players, coaches, parents and guests.
Gaichas lauded all of the community support for the all-volunteer league and thanked the Chicago Cubs for their ongoing support.
"Cubs refurbishment really helped the field," he said.
Omega Delta begins its fall season of youth baseball and softball this coming weekend, Sept. 7-8, 2024, at Hoyne Park.
