McKinley Park residents and families can bring their Halloween splendor to the McKinley Park field house, 2210 W. Pershing Road, Chicago, to help decorate the building's front windows for the season.
Park Supervisor Briana Soria announced the program, which will gild the front windows of the impressive edifice with spooky sights and delights as a way to let families safely enjoy Halloween.
The Halloween decor will be on display October 13 through Halloween, October 31. Donated Halloween decorations, including lights, are welcomed, Soria said.
Also at the field house, several openings still remain for fall children's programs for kids ages 3 through 12: The Play School at McKinley offers development of motion and social interaction through group activities for 3- to 5-year-olds. It runs 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday to Friday through October 23.
Park Kids at McKinley, for 6- to 12-year-olds, offers leisure and recreational opportunities after school, such as arts and crafts, non-contact sports, and nature activities. It runs 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday through October 23.
The McKinley Park field house is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, when families can inquire about and sign up for programs, and drop off Halloween decorations.
