Volunteer at OAKtober Tree Workday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at the McKinley Park Community Garden, 3800 S. Damen Ave., Chicago.
Garden volunteers along with the Chicago Region Trees Initiative (CRTI) will be tending the 25 trees planted at the garden in 2022. The workday will focus on routine tree maintenance and re-mulching trees to prepare them for fall and winter, and CRTI will distribute free tree saplings and resources to participants.
No experience is necessary, and tools will be provided.
