I hope everyone's been enjoying our recent news coverage and the exciting voting going on in The Best of McKinley Park ! I've been so grateful for our members' participation in this new feature, as well as the engagement of contestants, for whom we've been creating and distributing individualized promotional materials to assist everyone's candidacies. Voting runs until Thanksgiving, so there's plenty of time for votes to build into winners for this year's The Best of McKinley Park!

Google, Facebook and other brokers in our unregulated data marketplace exploit all you do as fuel for hostile marketing that weaponizes your personal information against you. The many who choose to integrate predatory surveillance tools -- from commercial websites to supposed charitable-purpose news outlets to local non-profits and elected officials -- are not trustworthy venues for community interaction like The Best of McKinley Park.

As astute readers know, we suffered a technical interruption to our email newsletter delivery over the past winter. This has been resolved since this spring, and we've been sending out our Weekly News & Events newsletter at the beginning of every week since then. ( Click here to subscribe .)

Our popular newsletter (more than 1,000 subscribers and climbing) has a target delivery of every Monday morning, with occasional shifts: Last week's newsletter was delayed due to unavoidable circumstance, and next week's newsletter will be sent out on Tuesday morning because of the Labor Day holiday.  After that, we'll resume our regular Monday emailing schedule.
