If you're like me, you have an old TV set in the basement that needs to be responsibly disposed of. You can't just put these things in the landfill because many times electronics have been manufactured with chemicals or other components that are harmful if not disposed of properly. It's also important not to throw anything in the recycling containers because this pollutes an entire recycling batch, rendering it unusable, and the cords are notorious as "tanglers" that mess up the sorting process.

The closest recycling drop off points to the McKinley Park neighborhood are:

2300 W. 52nd St.
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the third Wednesday of every month

1817 S. Pulaski Road
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every month
