Our friends at Plant Chicago , a very cool non-profit located just south of the McKinley Park neighborhood in Back of the Yards, are raising money through their "Miscellaneous Sale" of vintage equipment from the scientific, electrical, office and other industries.

The sale takes place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Saturday, August 27, 2022.

The location is Plant Chicago's restored firehouse just across from Davis Square Park at:
4459 S. Marshfield Ave., Chicago, IL  60609

I think there's both a cool decor factor -- and artistic use -- for many of the goods on offer, including all kinds of steampunk-ey dials, meters, valves, etc. It looks like there's a lot of very practical things, too, for construction and fabrication, and just because it's used, does not mean it's not quite usable. (This is the creed of Czubin Industries, which is also helping out with the sale.)

This reminds me a bit of the old American Science and Surplus store, as well as Salvage One waaay back in the day (before it got all fancy pants).

Full details on the event and an opportunity to register are on the Plant Chicago Miscellaneous Sale page of the Eventbrite website .
