The National Resources Defense Council (NRDC) just published an op-ed against the widening of I-55: "Illinois Needs to Address Transportation Pollution—Not Widen I-55." In it, authors Meghan Hassett and J.C. Kibbey advocate against adding additional toll lanes to I-55 leading into Chicago, which is under consideration by the Illinois legislature. They write:
