Civic Association Plots Spring Plans, Development Inquiries

The McKinley Park Civic Association, the neighborhood's longest-serving community group, met for its monthly meeting on Wednesday, March 7, at the McKinley Park public library. On the docket was a wrap-up of the recent awards banquet held the previous Sunday, as well as planning for spring, including the neighborhood Memorial Day parade on Monday, May 28.

Association officers also touched on inquiring into neighborhood development concerns, including the new asphalt production plant under construction at 2055 W. Pershing Road and the status of the former Wrigley factory site at 35th Street and Ashland Avenue. 

Other group business included renewing support for Omega Delta Baseball's upcoming season and getting updates on budget scheduling for local schools.

The next McKinley Park Civic Association meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, at the McKinley Park public library.
