The McKinley Park neighborhood's watering holes are again the leading spots for local entertainment throughout this week and upcoming weekend. The fun begins on Tuesday, May 21, with Loteria Night at One City Tap. Marz Community Brewing Company again presents Jazz on Marz with the Jazzeros on Wednesday night, May 22, and hosts their Karaoke on Marz on Thursday, May 23.
Dancers can learn new moves and strut their stuff on Thursday, May 23, at One City Tap's Latin Nights with Sandra Magaña, this week featuring salsa music and dance. The Tap hosts its Karaoke Night on Friday, May 24, and its late-night Sabado Gigante dance party on Saturday, May 25.
Marz Brewing is bringing back the smashing action at its monthly Super Smash Bros. Meetup on Sunday, May 26. On Friday, May 24, Marz presents DJ Alicia Serrano in its tap room, and on Saturday, May 25, country music DJ Lawrence Peters spins at the brewery.

The young engineers of the neighborhood are displaying their hard work at the Horizon Science Academy Engineering Symposium on Friday afternoon, May 24, at The Plant Chicago. Attend to view presentations of the Horizon Science Academy students' projects and network with young engineering prospects.
Local birders have been enjoying a series of local events on our neighborhood's feathered friends. This week, attend Bird Identification with Bobbi Asher on Wednesday evening, May 22, at the McKinley Park public library to learn how you can tell which bird you're sighting in the park.
Latin Nights with Sandra Magaña takes place Thursday, May 23, at One City Tap.
Help beautify the park at the McKinley Park Stewardship Day on Saturday morning, May 25. You can make a difference for our park's wildlife by shepherding the park's new natural areas, and help everyone enjoy the park, the lagoon and its nature trails.
The Evergreen Local School Council Meeting takes place on Tuesday morning, May 21. It offers a chance for the community to connect with oversight and funding at our neighborhood's local middle school, Evergreen Academy.
