A very family-friendly Halloween event is slated for next Sunday, October 27, at the Omega Delta Trunk or Treat celebration at Hoyne Park. Young readers can get a taste of thrills at the Tween Book Club: Spirit Hunters gathering on Thursday, October 24, at the McKinley Park branch of the Chicago Public Library.

Leave your costume at home, but bring your resume to employment events this week: The Job Fair on Wednesday, October 23, brings dozens of employers to the McKinley Park field house, courtesy of Illinois 1st District State Senator Antonio "Tony" Muñoz. On Thursday, October 24, Illinois 2nd District State Senator Theresa Mah and Cook County 7th District Commissioner Alma Anaya host the Census 2020 Hiring Event at the National Latino Education Institute.

On Saturday, October 26, the McKinley Park Stewardship Day rallies neighborhood volunteers and council members to help clean up McKinley Park.

The new neighborhood Safe Passage group in McKinley Park is expanding with the Safe Passage Training on Friday, October 25, at Evergreen Academy Middle School. Get certified then sign up for a shift or two to help keep neighborhood streets safe for kids and families.

The When Harry Met Sally Film Screening projects the classic comedy at the McKinley Park public library on Saturday, October 26.  Drop-In Games that afternoon at the library pits teens and adults in contests of classic and new board games, while Exploratorium on Wednesday, October 23, presents STEAM (Science,Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) fun for kids.

 Latin Nights with Sandra Magaña on Thursday, October 24, heats up One City Tap with salsa dance lessons and an open dance floor. Karaoke lovers get another double-dose of singing this week, with Karaoke on Marz on Thursday, October 24, at Marz Community Brewing Co. and Karaoke Night at One City Tap on Friday, October 25.

On Sunday, October 27, Marz Brewing again hosts the monthly Super Smash Bros. Tournament to give gamers' thumbs some workouts and award the next Smasher crown.
